ReturnRonny Jaques

Born in England in 1911, Jaques studied photography at the Regent Polytechnic in London. As a photographer in Canada and then in New York, he he shot fashion, travel, food and lifestyle photography for magazines such as Harper's Bazaar, Gourmet, Holiday and Town and Country.  During his free time Jaques  photographed celebrities such as Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins, and Nat King Cole at The Downbeat Club, a jazz club in New York. From Jaques' magazine work, in 1955 curator Edward Steichen selected three of his photographs for the world-touring Museum of Modern Art exhibition The Family of Man.
